Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen treedt af als Chairman van Aon Holdings B.V.

Aon kondigt vandaag het vertrek aan van Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen als Chairman van de Executive Board van Aon Holdings B.V. Na 33 jaar voor Aon werkzaam te zijn geweest, neemt zij per 1 april 2023 afscheid van Aon.
Gedurende haar tijd bij Aon bekleedde Soeteman-Reijnen verschillende leidinggevende functies, waaronder Global Chief Marketing Officer voor Aon Inpoint. Buiten Aon bekleedt Soeteman-Reijnen verschillende non-executive en ambassadeursfuncties. Zo is zij Chairman van de Supervisory Board van Kelp Blue, vice Chairman van de Supervisory Board van het internationale advocatenkantoor NautaDutilh, lid van de wereldwijde Alumni board van Harvard Business School (USA), lid van de Raad van Toezicht van Koninklijke Defensiemusea en lid van de Board of Directors van de American Chamber of Commerce in Nederland. Zij is ook voorzitter van de raad van advies van SER Topvrouwen en namens de Nederlandse overheid de vertegenwoordiger van G20 EMPOWER, het genderdiversiteitsplatform van de G20.
Soeteman-Reijnen is ambassadeur van UWC Maastricht en ondersteunt hun MENA Women Empowerment initiatief. In 2021 ontving Soeteman-Reijnen de prestigieuze Ambassador J. William Middendorf II Award voor haar diensten ter bevordering van de handels- en culturele betrekkingen tussen de Verenigde Staten en Nederland binnen haar functie bij Aon en door haar inzet als bestuurslid bij de American Chamber of Commerce in Nederland. In 2022 ontving Soeteman-Reijnen ook een eredoctoraat in de filosofie van de Rai University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India voor haar activiteiten op het gebied van corporate governance en inclusie & diversiteit.

Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen: “Het is een eer geweest om Aon 33 jaar te mogen dienen. Tijdens mijn reis van stagiaire tot Chairman van Aon Holdings B.V., heb ik het voorrecht gehad om met veel getalenteerde mensen met diverse achtergronden samen te werken. Zij waren allemaal net zo gepassioneerd als ik over het doel van Aon, namelijk ervoor zorgen dat klanten beter geïnformeerd en geadviseerd worden. Het begeleiden van onze klanten in verschillende stadia van transitie en groei heeft mij enorm veel plezier gedaan. Ik ben dankbaar dat ik mijn ambities op het gebied van risico, leiderschap en inclusie & diversiteit binnen en buiten het bedrijf heb kunnen verwezenlijken. Het is het juiste moment om mijn nieuwsgierigheid te volgen en op zoek te gaan naar nieuwe dromen en uitdagingen.”
Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen stepping down as Chairman of Aon Holdings B.V.
Aon announced today that after 33 years of service to the firm, Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen will step down as Chairman of the Executive Board of Aon Holdings B.V. on 1 April 2023.
During her time at Aon, Soeteman-Reijnen served in several leadership roles, including Global Chief Marketing Officer for Aon Inpoint. Outside the firm, Soeteman-Reijnen has held various non-executive and ambassador roles amongst others Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kelp Blue, vice chairman of the Supervisory Board of international law firm NautaDutilh, member of the global Alumni board of Harvard Business School (USA), member of the Supervisory board of the Dutch Royal Military Museums and member Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands.
She is also the Chair of the Advisory board of SER Topvrouwen (Dutch senior executive/ C-suite women empowerment initiative) and representative at G20 EMPOWER, the initiative of the G20 accelerating women’s leadership, on behalf of the private sector of The Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Soeteman-Reijnen is Ambassador of UWC Maastricht and supports their MENA Women Empowerment initiative. Notably, in 2021, Soeteman-Reijnen received the prestigious Ambassador J. William Middendorf II Award for her services in promoting trade and cultural relations between the United States and the Netherlands within her role at Aon as well as through her service as a board member at the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands. In 2022, Marguerite also received an honorary doctorate in philosophy from Rai University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India for her activities in respect of corporate governance and inclusion & diversity.

In my journey from trainee to Chairman of Aon Holdings B.V., I have been fortunate to work alongside so many talented people from diverse backgrounds – who were all as passionate as me about the firm’s goal to partner with our clients to help shape business decisions for the better. Guiding our clients through various stages of transition and growth has given me immense pleasure and I am grateful that I have been able to pursue my ambitions with regard to risk, leadership and inclusion & diversity within and outside the firm. It is the right time to follow my curiosity for new dreams and new challenges.”
